Sunsurf Energy is the sister company of Sunsurf Solar, which has built floating and pile-free solar parks in Sweden since 2020. Together we are building out renewable energy in Sweden and Europe, while making a more stable electricity market possible for more customers.

Sunsurf Solar was founded to solve a concrete problem: renewable energy projects often get stuck in land conflicts and lengthy processes. So we developed the technology to build solar parks where no one else can, on water and hard-to-use land. We built our first pilot project at Säve plant nursery, and our first commercial plant at Tångagård in Falkenberg.
Then came the energy crisis of 2022. We saw how the power price could swing unexpectedly and cut into the margins of Swedish industry, and customers we spoke to had to stop production. It made us realise that technology alone was not enough and that Sweden cannot wait until 2035 for new nuclear. That is why we founded Sunsurf Energy.

As a customer you do not need to invest in anything, because we take the whole investment. You are linked to a physical park, and the power we add to the park’s output comes from wind and hydro. That is why all production carries guarantees of origin, and as a customer you help new power get built. You can also visit the park you are linked to and use it in your own communication and in your sustainability and ESG reporting.

Marc Montgomery
CEO
With a background in environmental and political science, Marc has long experience of working on issues where sustainability, innovation and societal development meet. At Sunsurf Solar, Marc is CEO and responsible for the company’s strategy, the development of long-term partnerships and leading the team.
Martin Örgård
CTO
Martin Örgård is an MSc in marine engineering with ten years of experience from the offshore industry. He has worked on the development of HVDC platforms, floating wind and wave power, among other things. He is one of the founders of Sunsurf Solar and today serves as CTO, responsible for system and technology development.
Embla Jansson
Product developer
Embla Jansson holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial design engineering and a master’s degree in product development from Chalmers University of Technology. Her expertise lies in product development with a focus on innovation and cost efficiency combined with sustainability.
Björn Larsson
COO
Björn holds an MSc in mechanical engineering with a master’s in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology. At the company, Björn is COO and responsible for establishing and delivering projects, with a particular focus on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).
